Sometimes I work as a trader. Not always, but sometimes. Today is one of those days – at least that's what I intend to do. I'm sitting at my desk, with a few puzzle pieces, a cupcake, and a shake in front of me, which is definitely getting more attention than the screen.
As I sip my drink, my gaze keeps wandering to the wall. Cabo hangs there, sunny and colorful, and for a brief moment it feels as if I'm still there. Right next to it is a picture that reminds me that you can be proud of what you've already accomplished – even on days when you start off slowly.
My next vacation is already marked in the calendar. Just knowing that makes the day easier. My colleagues' "Best Buddy" garland hangs above me, and I can't help but smile. Work simply feels better when you know that good people are part of the team.
I slide two puzzle pieces together, there's that soft click , and suddenly my head is clear again. Trading can wait. The cupcake can't. And honestly, that feels pretty right right now.
